Free CPD Event: Ensuring children and young people who are looked after, recover from the impacts of trauma, abuse and neglect

Spaces are available at our free CPD event on Thursday 22nd April, from 11 – 12:30pm. Please note this event is now fully booked.

In the session, we focus on our Attachment and Trauma-Informed Care Model, and how it ensures that looked after children and young people recover from the impacts of trauma, abuse and neglect. The session will answer the following questions:

  • What are the active ingredients in our integrated care approach called ATIC(C)  (Attachment and Trauma-Informed Care)?
  • How do we ensure a successful recovery?
  • What are the components of the approach?
  • What are the outcomes?

Following the presentation, there will be an opportunity for a Q&A with our panel (Sarah Stefano, Head of Residential Care and James Hall, Head of Education).

The session will be hosted by Richard Cross, our Head of Assessment & Therapy. Richard is a UKCP-registered psychotherapist, who brought the first Trauma-Informed Care approach to the UK in 2006 (The Sanctuary Model) through his collaboration with Dr Sandra Bloom. Since this time, he has developed a new therapeutic care approach (Attachment and Trauma-Informed Care (ATIC)) and incorporated the most up-to-date knowledge of what works in the treatment of trauma, dissociation, and attachment difficulties. He is a board member of the Bowlby Centre, London, and the Institute of Recovery from Childhood Trauma.
