As a region we cover many areas across the county, supporting our children, young people and families located in both north and south Devon, all the way from Tiverton to Holsworthy, and from Torquay to Barnstaple, supporting children, young people and foster families who need us.

Why foster with us?

We recognise the valuable role foster carers play in helping children and young people who need it most. It is a challenging profession full of highs and lows, but it’s those tender moments that make it all worth it. That’s why we help to prepare our foster carers by providing professional training and support from the very beginning. We also provide a high level of therapeutic child care that is crucial for our young people’s development.

If you need us, we’re only a phone call away. You can rely on our 24-hours support, 7 days a week. You will also be joining an Ofsted Good fostering provider and a ‘Social Enterprise’. This means we re-invest a percentage of our surplus with the sole aim of achieving the best outcomes for the children and young people in our care.

“It is essential to work as part of a team, especially as I am a single foster carer. I have been so glad to know that I can contact my social worker or any of the social workers at Five Rivers at any time.” – Carer

“We’ve attended most of the support groups that have been applicable for us to attend. We have also attended a large number of training courses over the last year. Attending the support groups and training is a good opportunity to meet up with other foster carers and share problems and listen to how we all deal with different situations.” – Carer
