Fostering in the South & South East

The Five Rivers fostering teams in the South & South East were rated 'OUTSTANDING' by Ofsted in 2017.

We’re committed to ensuring that foster carers are recruited, supported, developed and rewarded for the crucial role they take on when they become part of the Five Rivers fostering family.

Working as a team, our foster carers provide foster homes to meet a range of needs for children, young people and families, with the aim of keeping them safe and improving their lives both now and in the future.
The range of needs presented by children, young people and families vary so much, foster carers may be assessed and approved to undertake some or all of the fostering roles below.

  • Long-term care
  • Short-term care
  • Parent and child care and /or assessment
  • Respite fostering care

Our South and South East service has foster carers from:

  • Wiltshire
  • Hampshire
  • Dorset
  • Oxfordshire
  • Southampton
  • Portsmouth
  • Berkshire
  • Sussex, including Brighton

What do we offer our foster carers?

Our South and South East locations are able to provide a range of services including:

  • Excellent remuneration and paid breaks of up to fourteen days a year
  • 24/7 support from qualified staff and experienced staff
  • A wide range of specialist training
  • Support groups for foster parents
  • Activities for both foster children and carers own children
  • Holiday and recreational activities with other foster carers
  • Support with educational issues
  • Clinical child psychologist support
  • Overnight breaks to support carers

Becoming a foster carer

We need to recruit foster carers in Wiltshire, Hampshire, Dorset, Oxfordshire, Southampton, Portsmouth, Berkshire, and Sussex including Brighton, in both urban and rural areas to ensure we provide local foster placements to those who need them.

Our office base is in Salisbury however, our staff work from their home to ensure that they can provide local support to our foster carers wherever they live in the area we cover.
