A HUGE congratulations to Hannah, who has won the Outstanding Achievement Award at The Fostering Excellence Awards!
We are so delighted to announce that care leaver, Hannah Bradley, who has previously been in Five Rivers’ care, has received the Outstanding Achievement Award at The Fostering Network’s Fostering Excellence Awards! Hannah is so deserving of this award and everyone at Five Rivers is so proud of her for what she has achieved over the last few years.
The Fostering Excellence Awards is the UK’s leading foster care awards that celebrate excellence and outstanding achievement in fostering and recognises those who make exceptional contributions to foster care each year. We nominated Hannah for her dedication to raising awareness of the needs of children in care and her determination to become a social worker to help more children in care.
Olivia Doherty, Participation Lead at Five Rivers Child Care, said: “Nothing can hold Hannah back - everyone around her has been touched by her resilience, her willingness to participate in opportunities to raise awareness of the needs and challenges of children in care, and her drive to do more to help. We’re so thrilled that she was chosen as the winner for this award, and we are so proud of all her achievements this year.”
Hannah, who is studying Working with Children, Young People and Families at Leeds Beckett University, dreams of becoming a social worker in the future, to help children like her. Hannah lived with Five Rivers’ foster carers as a teenager. Since being in care, Hannah has taken every opportunity presented to her to challenge the common misconceptions about children in care and the role of foster carers. As well as participating in our Skills to Foster Training courses that provide support to new foster carers, Hannah has been very active in our campaigns to encourage others to consider fostering.
Kevin Williams, chief executive of The Fostering Network, said: “I’d like to congratulate Hannah on winning her award. It is truly inspiring to see so many exceptional people achieving so much. It is a privilege to be able to celebrate and raise awareness of those achievements with our annual awards. I hope the awards are able to give people outside of the fostering community an appreciation of the vital role fostering playing in our society.
“Hannah and all our winners, as well as everyone else involved in fostering in the UK, should be incredibly proud of their contributions to foster care. Every single day they are striving to improve the lives of children and young people in foster care.”
A huge congratulations to Hannah, and everyone that was nominated in this category and other categories. You’re all winners and have done so well!
