Five Rivers Independent Fostering Service
Foster carers provide a place in their family for children who are unable to live with their own parents or carers. It is a calling for exceptional people, but it is increasingly recognised as a fulfilling career option for those with transferable skills from other jobs.
There are opportunities to specialise in different fostering careers, including caring for children with medical and learning needs or dealing with emergency placements.
Five Rivers believe that such an important job demands great working conditions and support. We therefore offer remuneration and benefits that compare very favourably with other jobs in the caring professions, including:
- A competitive weekly allowance (up to £21,600 based on fostering one child)
- Up to 14 days paid holiday per annum
- School holiday activities for foster carers and children
- Comprehensive training and support
- Shopping discounts and reduced entry fees to family attractions
People aged 21 or over from all walks of life can become foster carers including single people, cohabiting couples, same sex couples and people living in rented accommodation.
The only requirement is a spare room for each foster child.
