Five Rivers South + South East Fostering service rated OUTSTANDING

Ofsted: “This fostering agency is outstanding because children and young people, some of whom have very complex needs, make exceptional progress in many areas of their lives and this progress is sustained over time” December 2017

We are delighted to announce that our South and South East England fostering service – based in Salisbury with Foster Carers living throughout the South of England –  has been judged to be an OUTSTANDING service by Ofsted.

Five Rivers’ Head of Fostering Operations, Martin Leitch says,

“Up until now all five of our fostering operations have been judged as ‘GOOD’. It is our aim to achieve an Outstanding rating across the country and we are pleased to see this has been achieved by South and South East despite the rigours of the new inspection regime which gives two days’ notice of an inspection – so requiring services are constantly inspection-ready.”

Areas of the service which attracted particular praise include the level of participation by the children and young people and the quality of support and care offered by the foster carers:

“Children and young people’s participation is excellent. They have a real voice in how the agency is run. Their contributions are valued and they effect change.”

“Foster carers provide an exemplary standard of care and support. They are committed to the children and young people for whom they care and they offer long-term support into adulthood”
