Let’s have a coffee and a chat about Fostering in Salisbury

Our Salisbury fostering team – recently judged ‘outstanding’ by Ofsted – are inviting members of the local community for a coffee and an informal chat about fostering opportunities in the area.  The coffee morning will be held at the Starbucks on Southampton Road, Salisbury SP1 2LB, on Wednesday 28 February from 11:00 – 13:00.

We are currently on the look-out for foster carers across Wiltshire.  There’s currently a shortage of 480 carers in the south-west and more than 7,000 across the UK – the need to support young vulnerable people is more pressing than ever.  You could be the person that makes an invaluable positive change to the life of a young person in Salisbury.

We know fostering is a big topic to think about, and you’ll likely have lots of questions to ask and answers to consider before taking your interest further.

We provide extensive training and support to our foster carers – also reflected in Ofsted’s report.  It states: “Foster carers experience an exceptionally high standard of training and support, [which has] a direct influence on the quality of care and support, and therefore has an effect on children’s and young people’s outcomes.”

If you would like to know more about how you can help, the personal and career benefits of fostering, or would just like an informal chat with our team, you are warmly welcome to join us on Wednesday 28 February.

If it’s easier to call or email, you can reach us on 0345 266 0272 or carer.enquiries@five-rivers.org
