Meet Nicky – A Five Rivers Senior Social Worker
Friday 14 September 2018
Job Title: Senior Practitioner Social Worker
What do you do?
It is my job to provide support for fostering families, and the children they look after.
How long have you worked for Five Rivers fostering service?
I have worked for four years as a member of staff in Salisbury.
What motivates you to get out of bed in the morning?
Being able to place a vulnerable child in a foster family that is going to meet his or her needs is so rewarding. I am passionately committed to the families that have made this really brave decision.
What do you love about your job?
The best thing is seeing children in Five Rivers foster families turn their lives around – some of them achieve a lot!
Tell us something fun about yourself?
I sing in a local choir called Ooh Mama! This is one of my stress-busting strategies. Another is that I am currently walking the 100-mile South Downs Way – in bite-size chunks, not all at once!!!
