The service has been established since 2001. Our local office in Truro is central to many of our foster carers.

About the Truro Office

Our friendly, diverse team has extensive experience of working in fostering services.

Our team benefits from local knowledge and promotes a sense of ‘family’ among our carers. Equality and collaboration are important, so we regularly meet with carers to hear their views on our service.

What services do we provide in this area?

Our Truro office provides a range of services including:

  • Extra curricular activities
  • Educational support
  • Mental health support
  • Development assessment

Training and support groups

  • Skills to foster
  • Monthly supervisory visits
  • Child protection and safeguarding training
  • Monthly carer support groups
  • First aid training

We also provide regular ongoing training including:

  • Managing difficult/challenging behaviour
  • Internet safety
  • Attachment separation and loss
  • Child development

Fostering with Five Rivers

We are actively recruiting in the Truro area and looking for carers from Bodmin, Bude, Camborne, Falmouth, Helston, Launceston, Lostwithiel, Newquay, Par, Penryn, Penzance, Perranporth, Redruth, Saltash, St Austell, and their surrounding areas.
