Five Rivers’ Children’s Residential Home, Clannad, receives ‘Outstanding’ Ofsted Report
As a result of an Ofsted inspection, we’re thrilled to announce that our Kent-based children’s home has been graded ‘OUTSTANDING’ in all areas with no recommendations for improvement.
This is a tremendous achievement for the home and importantly our children. The home has been on the cusp of this outcome consistently for many years. The team at Clannad continue to push each other to grow, develop, and thrive, in exactly the same way they do for the children they love and care for.
The Ofsted report, published this week, captures how the home is turning children’s lives around.
The opening to the report says: ‘Children have made exceptional progress from their individual starting points since living in the home, due to the care they receive. Children’s emotional health, confidence and self-esteem have significantly improved. Children are helped to attend and engage in education and meet their education targets.’
The outstanding commitment of the compassionate staff and Manager is highlighted in the report which says: ‘Children are helped by highly skilled staff who work together to provide stability and to ensure that children achieve their goals and aspirations. Children are supported with clear, consistent and appropriate boundaries and routines that are relevant to their needs.’
Five Rivers’ Regional Manager, Tim Matthews, said:
“So many people have played a big part in this journey for Clannad across our Five Rivers family, however it is important to highlight Naome as the home Registered Manager being the foundations for which the culture, outcome, and this outstanding achievement is built upon.”
This is highlighted with the report itself which captures, ‘The highly efficient Registered Manager is very ambitious for children and has created a positive and highly effective workforce culture. This has supported retention of staff and ensured children have received consistent, high-quality, and continuous care from trusted child-centred staff’ Tim continues
“it is a genuine privilege to work with the amazing Clannad team and I want to thank everyone for dedication to achieving this Outstanding outcome.”
