Five Rivers Child Care Ltd and Bournemouth University are pleased to announce the beginning of a three year innovative and creative partnership supported through the Governments Technology Strategy Board.

This initial three year Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) will provide a unique exploration of residential and foster care services.

The aim in our work together is to research, develop and implement an innovative model of practice (assessment, intervention and treatment) which supports and evidence based approach to the improving of outcomes for children in our care.

We will disseminate a wide range of research evidence which will be obtained from our study, ensuring that we can support in ensuring that all we do is underpinned by a sound research and evidence base.

It will provide an unique insight in helping to inform what is effective in ensuring a positive trajectory for children and young people who are looked after.

This development of thinking and practice in relation to meeting the needs of children with complex needs who access residential and foster care services within Five Rivers Child Care Ltd will assist in informing practice and policy in these areas both in the UK and Internationally.

Five Rivers Child Care Studies

Psychotherapists, Psychiatrist, Play Therapist, Psychologist and Independent Social Workers are required to support Five Rivers Child Care in our 3 year research programme designed to improve outcomes for looked-after children.

Five Rivers Child Care Ltd is committed to furthering our national work in residential care, Crisis Intervention, Assessment and Treatment services supported by a national framework of Psychologist, Psychiatris and other specialist clinicians to develop targeted interventions with measureable results with as many as 1:5 children and young people suffering with complex psychological needs.

These children need more help sooner and intensively.

We welcome new theoretical studies form practitioners to support our wealth of information in this sector. We believe that creativity through informative practice development will help develop this under researched area of children’s services.
