Benny’s Blog: Living my bear-st life

Benny at Five Rivers

Hi everyone, Benny again! It’s blog number 3 and I’m still having the best time ever and waiting until now to tell you about it has been unbearable!

A lot of you will have seen my Halloween adventures, but for those of you who didn’t know, I went as a scare bear. I was lucky enough to attend my first ever Halloween party at Fountain House. I also got to have a go at pumpkin carving, but the children were much better at it than me. One of them even carved Harry Potter!

Benny at Five RiversFor more Halloween adventures, I joined the children on their trip to the National Forest Adventure Farm AND the Yorkshire Wildlife Park. AND I got to join the children in Truro for more pumpkin decorating fun. I was slightly disappointed not to get any sweets – I was hoping to be a gummy bear, but there’s always next year!

Now Halloween is over, you know what that means. Christmas! I’ve already been getting festive by helping the Hessle office get Christmas hampers ready. The weathers just turned colder too – I’m practically a polar bear! – so I was super excited when I was given an early Christmas present to keep my feet warm! You can see how cute I look in my new boots here!

I’ve been so busy since the start of November, and I was invited on a couple of trips abroad, and was given my beary own passport! I have used it on my travels abroad to Amsterdam and Disneyland Paris. I can’t believe I got to meet Mickey Mouse! I couldn’t bear the excitement.

Some of you may have seen me at Compass Jobs Fair in London where I helped to recruit more wonderful people to turn children’s lives around. I also discovered my new favourite snack of the month – M&Ms!Benny at Five Rivers

Three young people in Truro have completed the Young Recruiters Training and are set to take part in the Fostering Support Worker interviews – thanks for letting me come along guys!

I love writing this blog almost as much as I love going on adventures with the Five Rivers children. This time, I got to drink a cup of tea with HR, how professional! A working bear or bearly working?

Remember to keep looking for me on our Five Rivers social media under #BennyTheBear. Until next time!

Love,

Benny
