Richard Cross
Director of Clinical Services
Psychotherapist and Child Psychotherapist
Richard is a member if the executive leadership team at Five Rivers Care. He has worked with children and young people for over 30 years who have experienced significant adversity.
He has had the privilege of supporting the work of Five Rivers since 2009. During his career he had focused on developing innovative approaches to address complex needs such as bringing the first trauma-informed approach to the UK in 2006.
He is a Fellow & Faculty member of the International Society for the Study of Trauma and Dissociation and delivers training for mental health professionals in the treatment of complex trauma and dissociation. He is also a faculty member of the Arizona Trauma Institute.
He donates his spare time to helping charities as a trustee of various organisations such as the Bowlby Centre, London. He is currently focusing on developing integrated therapeutic approaches such as the ATIC model for Five Rivers which incorporates understanding around attachment, trauma, and dissociation.
