Gulliver’s Activity Centre

Gulliver’s Activity Centre

  • Location: Sheffield
  • Gender: Male and female
  • Age Range: 6-18
  • Capacity: 10

Situated in the beautiful Yorkshire countryside, Gulliver’s Activity Centre provides an alternative learning environment for young people. The Centre was established as a therapeutic space for pupils at Field Gate School, and we are delighted to extend our services to children from other schools on an outreach basis. Comprised of six bespoke cabins in a peaceful wooded area, the Centre offers bespoke learning programs in a therapeutic environment.

Our Mission

To provide a unique learning and therapeutic environment, to support children who struggle in a traditional school setting.

Our Values

Our vision is to develop well-rounded, confident, and responsible individuals who aspire to achieve their full potential. We do this by providing a welcoming, happy, safe, and supportive learning environment in which everyone is equal, and all achievements are celebrated.
We believe that a happy child is a successful one. We are committed to providing a positive, safe, and stimulating environment for children to learn, and feel valued. We intend for all children to enjoy their learning, achieve, and become independent life-long learners.

Our Facilities

We have six bespoke cabins in a secluded wooded area, surrounded by wildlife and with access to our own Forest School area. Each cabin is equipped with the latest technology to support learning.

Curriculum Information

Our trauma-informed curriculum is tailored according to each pupil’s needs and interests, consisting of academic subjects, physical activity, social skills, and activities promoting wellbeing and independence. Each child has a personalised timetable which is adapted to suit their needs and includes SEMH and enrichment activities.

Our approach to learning is thematic, with a core theme each term, connecting the seven curriculum areas of Literacy, Numeracy, Science and Technology, The World Around Us, Creativity, Skills for Life alongside Physical Education and Wellbeing. Within the school day there is a focus on core learning of Literacy, Numeracy, Science and Technology. Within these curriculum areas, pupils can focus on their own personal development through enrichment and SEMH needs.
