Fans of Fostering
If you’re interested in hearing about other opportunities to help children in care, become a Fan of Fostering.
Our Fans of Fostering are passionate people who want to rally together to raise awareness of the wonderful work foster carers do and to support children in care. They are, generally, not foster carers themselves and are people who are motivated to make a difference. This could be as simple as sharing a Facebook post, or speaking with your nearest and dearest about the transformational power of fostering.
As a Fan of Fostering you will also play an important role in encouraging people to think well of children in care. You will think about how children might be helped and introduced to different and new opportunities. As a fan of fostering, you may introduce us to an individual or organisation that would be interested in learning more about what being a foster carer entails.
As you may be aware, there is a drastic UK-wide shortage of foster carers and we need to do what we can to raise awareness of the need for more foster families to offer children and young people a safe place to call home. Could you help?
To help us to raise awareness of this amazing vocation and, most of all, to share and celebrate the amazing achievements of care experienced children and young people please subscribe below. We will send you emails, not more than once a month, with news, stories, events and opportunities to get involved. There is no obligation from you.

Here are the three key words that perfectly describe what being a fan of fostering represents:
Celebrate: Children and young people in care are truly remarkable. This is a space for us to celebrate their achievements and the achievements of those who are trying to make the world a better place for them.
Educate: Re-shaping the narrative about fostering and the lasting, positive impact it can have on children and young people. Whether that be trying to dispel myths about fostering or discussing some of the challenges that they face.
Participate: Encouraging people and communities to get involved, in small and big ways. Would you or your organisation be interested in inviting us in to talk to you about fostering or hear from those who do it? Could you become a partner of Five Rivers?
