A time to celebrate all mothers
This Sunday is Mothering Sunday, a day where children young and old say thank-you to their mothers for all that they do. However, for many children across the UK, Mother’s Day can serve as a stark reminder that they are not part of a traditional family, whether through family separation, bereavement or perhaps they are in foster care or have adoptive parents.
We work with the some of the UK’s most vulnerable children and young people, placing them with foster families who are able to provide a caring, loving and safe environment. This is why we’re calling on people to think about those mothers who take on non-traditional parenting roles, those who go above and beyond to look after and care for those children and young people who are most in need.
Ahead of Mother’s Day, we would like to encourage people across the UK who could potentially make wonderful foster carers, to consider fostering as a life choice. So many children are in need of a place to call home and people to call family, you could be the reason their life changes for the better.
We hope this gives you something to think about this Mother’s Day. We wish all mothers, whether you are fostering, biological or adoptive, a very happy Mothering Sunday.
