Fountain House is rated Outstanding recent Ofsted inspection
Our Leeds-based children’s home, Fountain House, has been rated ‘Outstanding’ in all areas following a recent Ofsted inspection, with no recommendations for improvement.
Fountain House is a small children’s home which provides specialist trauma-informed care for children with complex needs. The report, published this week, captures the essence of the home with its opening statement. “Children love living in this home. They have fun, and their laughter and personalities shine throughout the home. They are encouraged to be their own person and they are relaxed and confident.”
The report praises the excellent quality of work and dedication of the caring staff and Manager of the home. The Ofsted Inspector commends Fountain House with heartwarming statements about the positive relationships between the staff and children. “This home mirrors that of an exceptionally happy family home. This is because of the love and nurture that the staff provide to the children. The staff tuck the children into bed at night, read them stories, give them hugs and show affection. They treat the children with respect, kindness and care.”
At Fountain House, the care extends beyond requirements; it’s about promoting positive growth, instilling healthy routines and ensuring every child feels valued and supported. “Children make exceptional progress because of the quality and consistency of care that they receive from the staff in this home. The staff are wonderfully proud of the children, and the children know it.”
Reflecting on the report and the role of the home’s Managers, Five Rivers’ Regional Manager, Chelsea Bryan says, “At Five Rivers, we are so proud of Stacey, Emma and the Fountain House team in maintaining their Ofsted rating of outstanding. The team continue to pour love, nurture and support into each and every one of the children – the report reflects this beautifully. This is a fantastic achievement that should be celebrated.”
Registered Manager Stacey Wagstaffe followed on from this; “We are all really pleased with the outcome from the inspection. It’s fantastic that the amazing achievements of the children and the adults helping them has been recognised.
The whole inspection was extremely child-centred; it was clear from the children’s presentation that they felt comfortable during the process, and their home still remained a safe space.”
