Friday 22 March 2024
In a recent Ofsted inspection, the Spires School in Salisbury, one of our specialist Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) education provisions, has been rated ‘Good’ with ‘Outstanding’ features.
Offering a range of rich learning opportunities for pupils aged 6-18 years, the school has been praised in the report for its ‘carefully structured educational and therapeutic support and for recognising the importance of empathy and kindness’. The inspection highlighted how these approaches have helped students re-engage with learning, and flourish in education.
The inspector commends the school’s dynamic and personalised curriculum, saying; “Pupils develop their interests such as horse-riding, gardening and climbing. They learn to be resilient, resourceful, and independent learners through the curriculum. The curriculum offers a breadth of exciting, stimulating and culturally rich opportunities, such as visiting the theatre and historical sites. Pupils thrive in this learning environment.”
The report emphasises the positive culture and high staff morale within the school: “Overwhelmingly, staff are positive about working at the school and feel that their workload is managed well. They are proud to work at the school.”
Head Teacher of The Spires School Kirsty Fletcher is delighted with the report. “We have had the pleasure of sharing with Ofsted inspectors some of the wonderful work that goes on here at The Spires. I’d like to personally thank both staff and pupils, not just for their hard work during the inspection, but for their commitment throughout every school day of the year.”
“I am proud to be part of a team that works so passionately to ensure that our pupils receive the very best education and opportunities. The pupils at The Spires are incredible and they deserve nothing but the best!”
This Ofsted report is a testament to the school and its commitment to continuous improvement, ensuring that every student receives the highest standard of education and care to thrive academically and personally.
