Children's welcome guides
Every child that comes into the care of Five Rivers must receive a Welcome Guide. Below you will find a range of guides for children age 0 to 18. There are also guides for parent and child fostering, and a guide for children with communication differences.
It is important that you review the Welcome Guide with the child. You can either print them out, or view them digitally. Please note, the digital version of the guide has spaces where children can fill out the names of their Social Workers, Support Workers, and other important people they come into contact with. Please complete these fields with the child.
Important things to note:
- A child’s developmental age may not always match their chronological age, so please select the guide that best aligns with the child’s communication abilities. The listed age ranges are loose guidelines for age suitability.
- If you have a child with communication challenges and you cannot see a guide that fits their needs, please contact your local manager and they will arrange specialist communications to help.
- These guides have been designed to be interactive. They can be printed and filled out, or they can be completed digitally. Please use the print-ready versions for local printers and the normal pdf for office printers.
