Why Transfer?

How to Transfer

The process of transferring from your current fostering provider is quite straightforward, whether you’re with an independent agency or a local authority. We will be on hand from day one to make this transition as smooth as possible. We’ll need to discuss your current circumstances and take you through an initial assessment process, so if you’re interested in finding out more then please get in touch.

Transferring with a Child

If you are fostering one or more children with another fostering agency or a local authority, you are still able to transfer to us. In most circumstances, the child will be able to transfer with you – it is very rare that they can’t. The first stage of this process involves phoning up for an informal chat about the child’s circumstances. Once you have got to know us, and we have more information about the child in your care, we can begin to discuss transferring to us and what this involves in more detail.

Pay & Allowances

As an independent agency and a social enterprise, we offer a highly competitive fostering allowance in the region of £21,800 a year. For almost all foster carers, this will be tax free and will not affect benefits you may currently be receiving. Find out more about foster carer pay and allowances.

Our Enquiry Team are always happy to provide information about pay, allowances and benefits for foster carers. If you have any questions about foster carer pay, please get in touch by calling 0330 173 3920 or email [email protected]
